Besides being a happily married father of 3, and an enthusiastic entrepreneur myself, I have been with Community Futures since March 2013. With nearly 30 years of management and business ownership experience I can definitely relate to the issues that business owners have. Come talk to me anytime!

The passion of course, is horses. The jobs have been the means to an end. I am excited about the new opportunity presented at Community Futures Lac La Biche, and look forward to growing in a role to assist local entrepreneurs access funds to establish, maintain or expand business operations.
2017 Summer Students
I started working with Community Futures as a summer student to conduct a survey, discover trends in local business and successfully create an online business directory as well. I’m excited to get out in the community and meet all the business owners in the area while learning something new every step of the way.
Hi! My name is Kayla. I am the Community Economic Development Coordinator Assistant summer student here at Community Futures/Lac La Biche Region Tourism. My role is to help develop the local economy through promoting tourism in our area. As a Business Administration student, this position has allowed me to utilize my knowledge and newly attained skills in my everyday work. I spend most days marketing and creating content that inspires and engages travelers to explore our region. I also keep the LLB Region Tourism website, Facebook and Twitter up to date with current events. Other days you can find me canoeing across Lac La Biche with videographers capturing the picturesque beauty or walking through the trails at Sir Winston Churchill Provincial Park – it most definitely is the perfect summer job!
I’ve been hired as a summer student here at Community Futures, currently building a business directory website in partnership with the current business development survey we are creating. Office working has taken some getting used to as I formally worked as a cashier but it has been rewarding and I enjoy the daily learning opportunities regarding local business. I am hopeful that by the end of this program I will have a better understanding of local business development and tools to further my hopes of opening a local business myself.
